When something goes wrong with a car key, the car usually cannot move. That is why our automotive locksmith service is mobile. Instead of paying for a tow to a dealer, you call us and we bring the tools to the car, whether it sits in your driveway, a store lot on Main Street or a work yard in one of Fernley’s industrial parks.
Most car key problems fall into a few groups. You may have lost every key and need car key replacement made from scratch. Your remote or push-to-start fob may have stopped working and need key fob replacement and programming. Or the key may be sitting on the seat behind a locked door, which is a job for our car lockout service.
Each job starts with a short phone call so we know what key your vehicle uses before we arrive. That way we bring the right blanks, chips and equipment the first time.

Pick the service that matches your situation, or call and we will help you figure it out.
Lost your only key, or want a spare? New keys cut and programmed at your vehicle, even with no original.
Remotes, smart keys and push-to-start fobs replaced and paired with your car on-site.
Keys locked in the car? We open cars, trucks and SUVs without damaging the door or window.
Sometimes the key is fine but the ignition is not. A key that will not turn, a key that turns but nothing happens, or half a key stuck in the cylinder are all common calls. Worn keys and worn ignition wafers often go together, especially on older trucks that rack up miles on I-80 and US-50A.
For a stuck or snapped key, the first step is usually key extraction: pulling the broken piece out of the lock or ignition without damaging it. From there we can often cut a new key from the broken pieces or from the lock itself. If the ignition cylinder is worn, we will explain the options and the cost before any repair starts.
A dedicated ignition repair page is planned for later. Until then, call and describe what the key is doing and we will tell you what we can do.
